Who are they? Women who love to sing and learn and have fun together under the musical direction of Jen Squires. This group has harmony with attitude!
Where are they? We rehearse in Ballina, in North East NSW and also pull members from Lennox Head, Lismore, Byron Bay, Evans Head, Alstonville and Broadwater.
What do they sing? A range of music from the 20s to the 90s. We've just added "I Swear" and "And So It Goes" to our repertoire and are about to learn Blame It On The Boogie. Our current repertoire also includes "Hernando's Hideaway", "Grease Megamix", "It Had To Be You", "One Fine Day", "Summertime", "Take A Chance On Me", "You Don't Own Me", Love Medley", "I Never Meant To Fall In Love", "I Am Australian", "Advance Australia Fair" and several christmas carols.
What do they do? The Headliners perform locally for functions, parties, promotions and fundraisers. Being part of an Australia wide and world wide organisation (Sweet Adelines International) means we also have opportunities to attend workshops and competitions.
Can I do it too? . If you can hold a tune this might be just the hobby for you. We never close our books to new members but barbershop being a challenging artform we do audition for potential. This process is simple and well supported. Visitors are always welcome at rehearsals.
